Professional Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing & Testing

Course Overview

This program provides comprehensive, field-oriented training to develop professional fiber-optic technicians capable of working on both ISP (Indoor) and OSP (Outdoor) projects.
The course focuses on real-world practices, including fiber installation, fusion splicing, termination, and advanced testing (OTDR) using industry-standard tools and procedures.
With a strong emphasis on hands-on training, participants will simulate actual site conditions, enabling them to confidently execute fiber optic projects with high performance, low loss, and full compliance with standards.

Target Audience

  • Fresh graduates (Telecom / Electrical / IT)
  • Fiber optic technicians and installers
  • Network and telecom engineers
  • Field engineers and supervisors
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting teams

Course Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand fiber optic theory, advantages, and applications
  • Differentiate between single-mode and multimode systems
  • Identify various fiber optic cable types, structures, and specifications
  • Perform proper fiber cable preparation and handling
  • Execute fusion splicing and mechanical splicing with low loss
  • Terminate fiber cables in ODF and patch panels
  • Install fiber networks in aerial, duct, and direct burial environments
  • Use testing tools including VFL, Power Meter, and OTDR
  • Analyze OTDR traces and detect faults accurately
  • Understand and deploy passive optical components (splitters, couplers)
  • Apply labeling, documentation, and best practices in real projects
